2010 DGS FOOTBALL SEASON PREVIEW
The DGS Football Boosters will be taking a different approach for the 2010 football season. Instead of holding numerous mandatory fundraisers throughout the season, the Booster Club will be assessing a one-time fee of $200 for Freshman and Sophomores and $275 for Varsity players.
The amount of the fee was derived from taking the total estimated player expenses and dividing by the estimated number of players participating in the 2010 season. The Varsity contribution is higher due to the inclusion of the player's contribution for Varsity dinners.
Final payment of the fee is due by August 1, 2010. In order to help families plan, the Booster Club will allow families to make two payments. The first payment can be made anytime before June 1st. Players can drop off their payments to Coach Belskis at any time. Watch this site for a Paypal option as well.
PLAYERS WILL NOT RECEIVE THE ITEMS THAT ARE SUPPLIED TO PLAYRS BY THE BOOSTER CLUB IF THEY DO NOT PAY THEIR FEE!!!
In addition, the Boosters have implemented a required volunteer program. The program requires that each family pay $50 per player to the volunteer fund. Player families are then required to volunteer 10 hours of their time to the program. This volunteer work includes helping out at Jog-A-Thon, Work-A-Thon, concessions, etc. There are plenty of opportunities for all families to meet their obligation. Once the obligation of 10 hours per player has been met, the family will receive their $50 back.
FEE SUMMARY:
Summer camp (to DGS) $75-90 (varies by level of player)
Athletic fee (to DGS) $115
Player fee (to Boosters) $200 for Freshman and Sophomores
$275 for Varsity players
Volunteer fee (to Boosters) $50 (refunded after 10 hours worked)
If you have questions about the Player fee and what it will cover, please plan on attending the next Booster Club meeting on Tuesday, March 9 at 7:30 pm, Room 180D.
